Alan Fadling’s An Unhurried Life is one of the best Christian books I’ve read. It’s an easy, down-to-earth read with a powerful, enticing invitation to a healthier life and ministry with Jesus. I’m a type-A, driven person in a hurried, busy American culture. More often than not, the idea of being unhurried sounds impossible, and maybe even sinful. But Fadling’s invitation (which is really Jesus’ invitation) is to a centered life of inner peace even in the midst of busy-ness. Each chapter makes for a quick read, but at the end of each chapter Fadling invites the reader to slow down and reflect and pray on the lessons of that chapter. Thus, the book itself helps discipline the reader in living an unhurried life! I highly recommend this book, especially to those who tend to be driven, busy, or in ministry (so almost everyone in America).
“Hurry rushes toward the destination and fails to enjoy the journey.”
