Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is a bit different from the games that I typically gravitate toward, but my friend Woojin thoughtfully gave it to me as a Christmas gift, so I checked it out! I was quickly drawn in by the incredible graphics, excellent story-telling, open-world play, and fast-paced fighting. In particular, I loved figuring out the puzzle of manipulating the Uruk captains and war chiefs of Sauron’s Army. This game plays quickly and is just the right length, avoiding the common open-world pitfall of unnecessarily drawing out the story. In fact, I was able to Platinum this game! I do wish, however, that the add-on content didn’t cost extra, or at least not $10 more. Having been in close contention for Game of the Year (ultimately losing to Dragon Age: Inquisition), Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is one of the best games out there for Playstation 4 and it is well worth giving it a play-through!
